X/O is not really a word, at least not in a tic-tac-toe context (there may be others). We could add senses to X and O about their usage as standard tic-tac-toe notation, and it would not be inconsistent with how we handle e.g. Q for chess queen. However, I think they're really just being used as symbols/letters, and idk how much we really want to add there. For example, should we have a sense for X as spot on a pirate's map marking the location of treasure? X and O, along with I as in tallying, are probably the most commonly used generic "mark" letters because of their symmetry and simplicity. 70.172.194.25 10:56, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

I made up xoxo back in 1994 when my son was a baby, I know this because it wasn’t around before then. I would sign cards from him with xoxo! As I wanted to do more than a kiss (x) so I made a cuddle (o) I would always have to explain what it meant as everyone would ask me!
