An old experiment by an anon in the style of the Japanese kanjitab template, used on very few entries. As it serves no useful purpose, it should be orphaned and deleted. @VorziblixΜετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 04:24, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Metaknowledge The current incarnation is pretty useless, agreed. I don’t think the underlying idea is meritless, though, and I had left it in place in hopes of rewriting it eventually; a better-written version could (in addition to linking glyph entries) specify for each glyph whether it’s being used as an ideogram, phonogram, or determinative in that particular word, and, for phonograms, which reading is being used, etc. If we could use a module to parse WikiHiero input, separate out individual character codes, and throw them through a hash table to get their unicode equivalents, the input could also be done more sanely.
Still, it might be more clutter than it’s worth, and the links aren’t very useful when there’s so few glyph entries. (It’s also unclear how such a template could mesh with the numerous alternative writings in each entry.) For now I’d say orphan and delete, as any rewrite would probably be from scratch, and it’s best to keep this from propagating any further until something sensible can be worked out. — Vorziblix (talk · contribs) 08:41, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
Given that ten days have passed without objections, I’ll go ahead and orphan this. — Vorziblix (talk · contribs) 18:13, 26 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
