Merging Tehrani into formal Iranian Persian

edit

Tehrani accent (لهجه تهرانی) is different from formal Iranian Persian (فارسی معیار). They were separate in the past, but now the template show them as if they are the same thing. --Z 17:31, 18 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gaf showing as turned-f for Iranian

edit

Not sure when this was introduced but somewhat recently (Oct 2023) the letter gaf گ has been rendering as an upside down/turned f for Iranian Persian and Tehrani Persian. See for example مگر Glenohumeral13 (talk) 04:59, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

ð in Classical Persian

edit

As far as I know, d was pronounced as [ð] (in fact, it was a phoneme, ذ /ð/, called dhal-i mu'jam) in middle position when it was preceded and followed by a vowel (-VdV-), or when it was in the final position and preceded by a vowel (-Vd). See this entry[1] for an incorrect output where it shuuold be [d] instead of [ð]. Z 15:13, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
