Etymology edit
Borrowed from Ancient Greek Τρισμέγιστος (Trismégistos, “thrice-great”), from τρῐ́ς (trís, “thrice”) + μέγιστος (mégistos, “greatest”). Compare Mycenaean Greek 𐀴𐀪𐀮𐀫𐀁 (ti-ri-se-ro-e, “triple hero”).
