Hi there, and welcome to Wiktionary. I notice you are doing good work on the Chinese translations, thank you for that. Before you get too involved you will probably need to have a look through Entry layout explained, that explains how we format our entries and Criteria for inclusion which explains which words we aim to include. If you need more basic help, we have a Tutorial, and for most other questions the answer can be found in our Community portal. I hope to see you around more, if you have any questions feel free to use my talk page. Yours Conrad.Irwin 20:55, 28 December 2007 (UTC) (P.S. I suppose I should admit to everyone else that I know you in real life :)

P.S, nice to here from you, in future if you put new topics at the bottom of pages, (the + button at the top does that automatically). Also, if you sign your posts with ~~~~, it will automatically put your Username, and the current time. (You should only do that on discussion pages). See you later. Hi. Please don’t use Template:Chinese template, since we do not have such a template. Also, be sure to include the Pinyin pronunciation and, if possible, also the Simplified. We always put Traditional first, Simplified second, then the Pinyin, like this: *Chinese: 動作, 动作 (dòngzuò). Thanks. —Stephen 09:41, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Also, I think that it is usually best not to link the particle , like this:
I’m sure you will know when really should be included in the wikilink. Thanks. —Stephen 12:33, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Chinese traditional/simplifiedEdit

Hi, thanks for your contributions!

Just so you know, we don't use "Chinese traditional/simplified" as a language name here.

I would like to thank you as well for your work on the translations section. We have not yet formally documented the preferred format for Chinese additions to the translations section of English words. However, I recommend using the format in the entries such as time and stem cell. Here are some useful links:

Proposal for PMT Group MembershipEdit

Hi, We are in need of serious and consistent contributors for newly proposed Project Multilingual Translations(PMT), in all languages. The project is just in the phase of being designed and policies are being decided. In short, it would be an effort for getting both important things done, viz., providing almost all language-translations to the words and collecting the efforts of all contributors under a systematic policy to give collected sizable output.

Your name has been suggested to be a contributor in Chinese. We are looking forward positively. Kindly keep a watch on development of project policies of PMT and do consider contributing once the project sets out.

Thanking you,
