alicorn

edit

Hi! Thanks for adding citations to [[alicorn]]. Unfortunately, three of the citations for alicorn = winged unicorn are by the same author (Piers Anthony), so only one counts, because Wiktionary requires citations to be independent of each other. The Sibsy citation is not durably archived, so it doesn't count, either. Can you find "alicorn" used to mean "winged unicorn" in any other books, journals or newspapers, or on Usenet? If not, we'll have to delete it as having failed RFV. - -sche (discuss) 19:36, 12 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your Sibsy transcript was also not a use but a mention (a quotation about the word itself). No worries, though! I’ve gone to Google Groups and found 2 Usenet cites from alt.mythology.mythic-animals. It’s   Attested. ~ Robin (talk) 07:22, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
