Nomination: I hereby request the Bot flag for User:BuchmeierBot for the following purposes:
Creation of Spanish conjugated verb form pages, especially for irregular verbs (regular verbs can already be handled by User:TheDaveBot). The bot generates Template:es-verb form of template lines based on an analysis of existing conjugation tables at the entry pages of the verb. Only non-existent pages will be uploaded. Example verb form entries have been generated for the verbs cerrar and seguir.
Support[The]DaveRoss01:07, 23 September 2008 (UTC) - as an aside, TheDaveBot hasn't been run in 2 years and will most likely not be run again. If you find regular verbs which need to be added please do so.[reply]
SupportEncycloPetey 06:17, 23 September 2008 (UTC) Now that the code has been posted. I do hope you intend to check each conjugation table before runnung the bot on it. I've even found errors in Spanish conjugation tables in the past week, where the page had the wrong parameters in the template (e.g. [1]). --EncycloPetey06:17, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, the bot will only be run after having checked the carefully conjugation table, e.g. against the official conjugation tables ones of the Real Academia. Matthias Buchmeier07:50, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose—Stephen00:44, 23 September 2008 (UTC) I think it is a mistake to call cerrado or other participles verbs. Participles are made from verbs, but they are adjectives, and sometimes nouns or adverbs. It is best to call them participles. I have never heard of them being called verbs.[reply]
I agree with you Stephen, but surely that doesn't have any bearing on this bot- it's just following the format of entries created previously (and it won't fix other entries with the same problems.) So this would be better off on a discussion page. Nadando00:48, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t have a problem with running the bot in general, only with this aspect of it. It would require another bot to correct the problems caused by this one. —Stephen00:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it would be I good idea to have template section headers for that purpose. I have seen them on the Dutch Wiktionary. Probably this approach is not so well suited for manual editing as one has to know the proper template. However it might be practical in cases, where the policy not is yet definitevly decided.
