Someone who is forced to flee their home but who remains within their country's borders. Today is World Humanitarian Day, which is recognized by the United Nations to emphasize the work of humanitarian personnel and those who have lost their lives working for humanitarian causes. It marks the day in 2003 when 22 members of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq were killed in a suicide bombing.
