French edit

Etymology edit

Probably from the regional southwestern French egue (water), from Latin aqua. The Dictionnaire de l'Académie (9th ed.) suggests a derivation from égailler, but the TLF finds this unlikely.

Pronunciation edit

  • (file)

aiguail m (plural aiguails)

  1. (literary) (regional) dew resting on foliage
