Etymology

aphrodito- (Venus) +‎ -oid (like). From Ancient Greek Ἀφροδίτη (Aphrodítē, Aphrodite), the Greek Goddess of Love, equivalent to the Roman Goddess of Love Venus (Venus), synonymous use for the planet; and Ancient Greek -ειδής (-eidḗs, -oid) suffix. Coined in analogy to geoid, the equivalent for planet Earth.
