1. A form of government where decisions are made based purely on the numerical majority of supporters.

     And we shall probably find that arithmocracies are more amenable to sentiment than reason, less susceptible of serious and sustained purpose, more open to the disintegrating forces of disunion, and have a tendency to divide and sub-divide into countless cliques with discordant interests.
