Etymology edit

From Proto-Vietic *pɛh (to break in two, to pick), from Proto-Mon-Khmer *pih ~ *peh ~ *pɛh. Cognate with Arem pɛh, Khmu [Cuang] pɛh, Khmer បេះ (beh), Semai pèh.
