From Andalusian Arabic [Term?], from Arabic بَلُّوطَة (ballūṭa), from Aramaic בְּלוּטָא / ܒܠܘܛܐ (bəllūṭā, ballūṭā, “oak; acorn”). Compare Portuguese bolota and Spanish bellota.
