From Proto-Albanian *tsitsā, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱik- (compare Serbo-Croatian sisa (teat, tit), Irish cíoch (breast)). Related to thith. Compare Macedonian цица (cica), Italian zizza, German Zitze. Akin to sisë and thithë.
