czajka
Polish
editEtymology
editInherited from Proto-Slavic *čajьka. Sense 3 is presumed to be a semantic loan from Ukrainian ча́йка (čájka), given that this word, in any language but Ukrainian, is only put as an exotism for a vessel ascribed to the Zaporozhian Cossacks. Doublet of szajka.
