    • 2000, Jan de Groof, A New Framework of Special Education in the Russian Federation:
      Training in orthopedagogics started as a global course without division into types of handicaps while training in defectology started with profound study of auditive handicapped children and was influenced greatly by a German system of special education with profound specialization according to a handicapping condition.
