Borrowed from Spanish elogio, from Latin ēlogium (“inscription on a tombstone”), from Ancient Greek ἐλεγεῖον (elegeîon, “an elegiac distich”) + ē (“out”) + λόγιον (lógion, “the word of an oracle”).
