Etymology edit

From Occitan farfadet, from fadet, by addition of the expressive affix particle far- → see farfouiller,[1] with influence from Italian farfarello or Arabic فرفار, farfar ("inconsistent, fickle"), from farfara ("to agitate, stir")[2][3].
