Etymology

Compound of flamma (“flame”) +‎ -ig (“-y”). First attested in 1745.

Adjective

flammig (comparative flammigare, superlative flammigast)

1. Have shifting shade or uneven colour (reminiscent of flames); blotchy, patchy.

   Väggen är alldeles flammig.

   The wall is all blotchy.
