Borrowed from Arabic فُلُوس (fulūs), from Aramaic פילס / ܦܠܣ / פולסא / ܦܘܠܣܐ (פילס / ܦܠܣ / פולסא / ܦܘܠܣܐ /fuləsā, filas/), from Ancient Greek φόλλις (phóllis), from Latin follis. Doublet of fou.
