gas water (uncountable)

  1. Water through which gas has been passed for purification, and used for the manufacture of sal ammoniac, carbonate of ammonia, and Prussian blue.

      The tar and ammoniacal liquor or gas water are collected in the tar cistern, in which the tar occupies the lowest position.
