From Proto-Albanian *sada or *seda, deverbative of Proto-Indo-European *sed- (to sit) (compare English sit, Greek έδραι (édrai, seat), Romanian ședea). Çabej connects it to Proto-Indo-European *gʷṓws (cattle).[1]
