Compare Old Javanese gusali (“blacksmith”). Possibly related to Sanskrit कौशल्य (kauśalya, “a kind of pavilion; prosperity; skill; wellness”), and Pali kosalla (“wellness”). See also Sanskrit गोशाला (gośālā, “cow-stall”).
