höknatt
Swedish edit
Etymology edit
By surface analysis, hök + natt. Original meaning of the first part of the compound is disputed. One theory connects it with Old Norse hǫggva and blood sacrifice. Cognate of Icelandic hǫkunátt, hǫggunátt and Danish høgenatt. Compare Mother's Night.
