leita á (past leitaði á)

1. (with dative) to search at, to search with, to look at

   Hefurðu prufað að leita á Google?

   Have you tried searching with Google?

2. (with dative) to frisk somebody, to search somebody

   Lögreglan leitaði á mönnunum þremur en fann ekkert.

   The police tried frisking the three men but found nothing.

3. (with accusative) to make passes at somebody, to make advances
