From the same as the above. The neuter variant, midulj, may have undergone a shift in gender or came from a Vulgar Latin root *medullum; compare most other Romance cognates which shifted to a masculine form: Italian midollo (with plural midolla), Spanish meollo, Portuguese miolo, Catalan moll.
