The alternative form is "mày đay", and "mày" (eyebrows) and "đay" (jute) both have a feature of growing in clusters like weed or grass, possibly hinting at dots from urticaria appearing in the same manner? Or perhaps "mề" as in gizzards of a bird could be related to this.”
