perukirja
Finnish edit
Etymology edit
Pronunciation edit
Noun edit
perukirja
- (law) inventory of an estate, (list of all the assets and liabilities of a deceased person compiled as required by Finnish inheritance law)
- Perhe tarvitsi lakimiehen apua perukirjan laatimisessa.
- The family needed help from a lawyer settling the estate.
Usage notes edit
Since the English word "inventory" is used to refer to both the process of compiling a list of something and the result of that process (the list), the terms perunkirjoitus (the process) and perukirja (the result) can both be translated by the English terms "estate inventory" or "inventory of an/the estate". The Finnish tax authority uses the unofficial English translation "deed of estate inventory".
