Etymology

From porn (pornography) +‎ tube (a television). Probably originates from the tendency of early pornographic video-sharing websites to model their names after YouTube (an American video-sharing website), such as Xtube (launched 12 March 2006), RedTube (25 April 2007) and Tube8 (2007).
