From pyro- + Ancient Greek ὀθόνη (othónē, “linen”) + -ide.

pyrothonide (uncountable)

(archaic) A kind of empyreumatic oil produced by the combustion of textures of hemp, linen, or cotton in a copper vessel, formerly used as a remedial agent.
