reþra
Old English edit
Etymology edit
Apparently from Proto-West Germanic *rōþrijō (literally “rudder-er”), though there are no cognates. Ultimately derived from an earlier form of rōþor (“oar, rudder”). Compare German Ruderer, which is formed similarly with a different agent suffix.
