Etymology edit

From ren (pure) +‎ odla (grow, cultivate). Originally of growing microorganisms without contamination from other species.

  1. (intransitive, transitive) to purify (bring into or forth in a pure, unmixed form, usually of something more abstract)
    1. (intransitive, transitive) to streamline, to refine, to concentrate, etc.
      Vår verksamhet är för spretig. Vi behöver renodla den och fokusera på våra huvudområden.
      Our business is too unfocused. We need to tighten our focus ("purify it") and focus on our main areas.
