rose geranium (plural rose geraniums)

  1. Any of several pelargoniums having leaves with a rose scent, including important sources of rosewater and of rose fragrances. Although said to be the species Pelargonium graveolens, Pelargonium capitatum and Pelargonium radens, the rose geraniums in cultivation are pretty much all hybrids, with those species among the parents.
