From Ottoman Turkish اصيجاق(ıssıcak, hot, warm) (via Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (isicak/ïsïcak), equivalent to ısı + diminutive suffix -cık, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *ɨsɨ-, *isi- (to be hot).[1]
