Etymology
editFrom Proto-Turkic *sïrga, (or *ïsïrga, *asïrga),[1] whence also Russian серьга (serʹga). Cognate with Turkmen ysyrga, Khakas ызырга (ızırga), Salar sırğa, etc. See Bashkir һырға (hırğa) for more.
