  1. (countable) A figure or shape showing rays radiating from a central point.
    Synonym: starburst
  2. (countable) A strong outburst of sunlight.
  3. (uncountable) A style of finish for musical instruments such as guitars, having an area of lighter color (often showing the wood grain underneath) that darkens gradually towards a dark outer rim.
