Etymology

edit

The Lexikon der Ägyptologie notes that this name is evidently Cushitic. Leprohon, however, considers it a variant of the Egyptian name tꜣ-nt-jmn (literally She of Amun), which is otherwise only attested as a feminine name. In any case, the second element is certainly jmn (Amun). The written form demonstrates honorific transposition.
