touchpoint (plural touchpoints)

  1. A physical point of contact; a surface which regularly is touched by people.
    • 2022 January 26, “Network News: Northern keeps carriages clean”, in RAIL, number 949, page 12:
      The operator says that a total of 952,514 'cleans' of various touchpoints, including tables and door buttons, were carried out by more than 600 dedicated cleaning staff - the equivalent of cleaning one carriage at least three times every day.
  2. (business) An encounter where customers and business engage to exchange information, provide services, or handle transactions.
    The touchpoints in retail banking include tellers and ATMs.
