  1. (transitive) To return something that has been crumpled closer to its original state.
    I took the wadded-up letter from the trash and carefully uncrumpled it.
  2. (intransitive) Having been crumpled, to return closer to its original state.
    As the newspaper uncrumpled, the picture on the front page became recognizable.
