editA diminutive in -th, based on Proto-Albanian *wīja (“twisted, woven”), from Proto-Indo-European *u̯ei (“to twist, to weave”). Cognate to Latin vīeō, Sanskrit वयति (váyati), Lithuanian výti, Proto-Slavic *viti.[1]
