EtymologyEdit

Dvandva compound of yaraq +‎ yasaq, the latter part being a loan from Middle Mongolian ᠵᠡᠪᠰᠡᠭ (ǰebseg), cognate with Khalkha Mongolian зэвсэг (zevseg, weapon); not related to Azerbaijani yasaq (prohibition).
