1. Contraction of ਉੱਤੇ (utte, “on”). Shows something is on/at something.

   ਕਿਤਾਬ ਗੱਡੀ 'ਤੇ ਹੈ

   kitāb gaḍḍī 'te hai

   The book is in the car

   ਕੁੱਤਾ ਸੋਫੇ 'ਤੇ ਹੈ

   kuttā sophe 'te hai

   The dog is on the sofa
