Etymology edit

From Danish øge, from Old Norse auka (whence Faroese has eyka), from Proto-Germanic *aukaną. Akin to English eke, Swedish öka, Gothic 𐌰𐌿𐌺𐌰𐌽 (aukan), Latin augeō.
