Symbol edit
ˑ
- (IPA) half-long, that is, somewhat longer than the norm, but not as long as would be transcribed by ⟨ː⟩.
- (superscript ⟨𐞂⟩, IPA) length of the featured indicated by a diacritic; e.g. [tʰ𐞂] (a t with somewhat lengthier aspiration than the norm, a moderately aspirated t).
Usage notes edit
The symbols may be combined, for example ⟨aˑ⟩ for a length between [a] and [aː] and ⟨aːˑ⟩ for a length between [aː] and [aːː].
