editA plural neuter as though from βράχος (brákhos), from βραχέα (brakhéa), neuter, plural of adjective βραχύς (brakhús, “short, brief”) as in the phrase "βραχέα (brakhéa) sc. ὕδατα (húdata)] "shallow waters", already in Herodotus.[1]
