Reborrowing from Ottoman Turkish لیمان (liman),[1] (corresponding to the Medieval Byzantine form λιμεώνας (limeṓnas) or λιμνιώνας (limniṓnas),[2] diminutive λιμενάρι (limenári)),[3] from Hellenistic Koine Greek λῐμένιον (liménion), diminutive of Ancient Greek λῐμήν (limḗn, harbor). See also λειμών (leimṓn).[4]
