Bulgarian edit

Etymology edit

Formally reflects *krъšьjь as if from кръш (krǎš, fracture, breaking) (dialectal) +‎ -ей (-ej). Given its usage, though, probably the word is a recent formation formed as a conflation of Bulgarian къ́рша (kǎ́rša, to fracture, to break, to bend) and Bulgarian къ́шей (kǎ́šej, piece, bite).

Pronunciation edit

Noun edit

  1. (colloquial) piece, slice (of bread)
    Synonym: къ́шей (kǎ́šej)
    къ́ршей хлябkǎ́ršej hljabpiece of bread
