Compare Old East Slavic съвьрстьнъ (sŭvĭrstĭnŭ, of the same age), съвьрсть (sŭvĭrstĭ, of the same age; coeval, age-mate), from вьрста (vĭrsta, age). Compare Slovene vȓst (row, type, age) (tonal orthography) (genitive vrstȋ (tonal orthography)), Sanskrit वृत्ति f (vṛttí, method, essence, nature, gender).
