An Iranian borrowing. Compare Parthian 𐫅𐫏𐫖 (dym /⁠dēm⁠/), Middle Persian 𐫅𐫏𐫖 (dym /⁠dēm⁠/), Persian دیم (dim), Baluchi دیم (dem), Gurani دیم (dīm, face), Central Kurdish دیو (dîw, side, face, surface), Avestan 𐬛𐬀𐬉𐬨𐬀𐬥 (daēman, eye, look, sight).
