EtymologyEdit

From Arabic لَحْم عَجِين ‎(laḥm ʿajīn, meat and dough), from لَحْم ‎(laḥm, meat) + عَجِين ‎(ʿajīn, dough). Some of the spellings came via Turkish lahmacun. The form լահմաջուն ‎(lahmaǰun) is considered the most literate but լահմաջո ‎(lahmaǰo) by far is the most common.
